A smooth, cold emulsion of pure pumpkin puree and tangy goat cheese, blended with warm spices for a rich, creamy appetizer that comes together in minutes without cooking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz fresh goat cheese (Chèvre), softened
  • 2 tbsp cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup 100% pure pumpkin puree
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove goat cheese from refrigerator and let sit at room temperature for 15 minutes until soft but holding shape.
  2. Place softened goat cheese, cream cheese, and pumpkin puree into a food processor. Pulse three times to break up large chunks.
  3. Add cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper, minced garlic, maple syrup, salt, and black pepper to the processor.
  4. Blend on medium-high speed for 60-90 seconds. Stop to scrape down the sides with a spatula, then blend for another 30 seconds until completely smooth and uniform.
  5. Taste the dip and adjust seasoning with more salt, cayenne, or a splash of milk/cream if too thick.
  6. Transfer to a serving bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  7. Garnish with extra maple syrup or cinnamon and serve chilled with crackers, pumpernickel crisps, or apple slices.

Notes

Do not heat the ingredients; heat causes the dip to separate and become watery. Ensure the goat cheese is softened but not melted. If using watery pumpkin puree, drain it in a fine-mesh sieve for 10 minutes before use. The dip tastes better after chilling as flavors meld. If the dip is too thick, add cold heavy cream or milk one teaspoon at a time.
