Spooky Witches Brew Halloween Punch

Spooky Witches Brew Halloween Punch - featured image

A visually stunning, non-alcoholic Halloween punch with a deep purple-black hue that looks like a witch’s brew but tastes like sweet, tart childhood candy. Perfect for parties and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • Grape juice (purple, 100% juice)
  • Blackberry juice or syrup (concentrate or syrup)
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Lemon-lime soda (chilled, e.g., Sprite or 7UP)
  • Water (filtered)
  • Frozen blackberries (for ice cubes)
  • Edible glitter or luster dust (optional, food-grade)

Instructions

  1. Prepare ‘spooky’ ice cubes by placing 2-3 blackberries into ice cube tray compartments or freezing them in water for clear ice blocks. Freeze for at least 24 hours.
  2. In a large punch bowl or pitcher, combine grape juice and blackberry juice/syrup using a 2:1 ratio. Stir well until the mixture is very dark and sweet.
  3. Add fresh lemon juice to the base mixture and stir. Let it sit for a few minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Add water to the bowl to dilute the concentrate if necessary, stirring until the punch is very cold and appears almost black.
  5. Just before serving, slowly pour in the chilled lemon-lime soda to preserve carbonation. Stir gently to mix.
  6. Add edible glitter if using, and stir one last time to create a shimmering effect.
  7. Top the punch with the frozen blackberry ice cubes and serve immediately in clear glass cups.

Notes

[‘Do not add soda until right before serving to maintain carbonation.’, ‘Use purple grape juice, not red, to achieve the correct dark purple-black color.’, ‘For a low-sugar option, swap grape juice for unsweetened apple juice and use sugar-free syrup.’, ‘The base mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; add soda and ice only when ready to serve.’, ‘To keep the punch cold without dilution, place the punch bowl inside a larger bowl filled with ice.’]
