A fun and easy Halloween appetizer featuring mini hot dogs wrapped in crescent roll dough to look like mummies, topped with a spider web ketchup drizzle. Ready in under 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1216 mini hot dogs
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard (optional)
  • 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for eyes/texture)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Line a standard 13×18 inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a clean surface.
  4. Place one mini hot dog at the wide end of a dough triangle and roll it up tightly, leaving ends exposed like bandages. Repeat with all hot dogs and triangles.
  5. Arrange the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
  6. Brush the tops of the dough lightly with the egg wash mixture. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if using.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. While baking, mix ketchup and mustard in a small bowl. Pour into a squeeze bottle or a ziplock bag with a corner cut off.
  9. Once out of the oven, let mummies cool for 2 minutes.
  10. Drizzle the ketchup mixture over the top in a circular pattern to create a spider web effect.
  11. Serve warm.

Notes

Keep the dough cold to prevent sticking. Roll the dough tightly to ensure it holds its shape. If using full-sized hot dogs, cut them in half. For a spicy version, add sriracha to the ketchup. Can be frozen before baking for meal prep.
