A festive and easy-to-make Halloween snack featuring a spider web design created with creamy ranch dressing, crisp vegetables, and black olive spiders.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup creamy ranch dressing (homemade or high-quality store-bought)
  • 1 pound baby carrots or large carrots cut into sticks
  • 1 large bunch celery, cut into 3-inch sticks
  • 1 large cucumber, cut into thick rounds or half-moons
  • 1 small head broccoli, cut into bite-sized florets
  • 1 (2.5-ounce) can sliced black olives
  • Optional: Red bell pepper strips
  • Optional: Cherry tomatoes
  • Optional: Toothpicks or pretzel sticks for spider legs

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry all vegetables to ensure crispness and help the ranch adhere.
  2. Cut carrots into sticks, celery into 3-inch pieces, cucumber into rounds, and broccoli into small florets.
  3. Arrange the vegetables on a large platter in a circular border, leaving the center empty.
  4. Check ranch consistency; if too thin, mix in sour cream or mayonnaise until thick enough to hold shape.
  5. Transfer ranch into a piping bag or a zip-top bag with a tiny corner cut off (about 1/8 inch).
  6. Pipe 8-12 straight radial lines from the center to the veggie border to form the web structure.
  7. Pipe 3-4 curved concentric arcs connecting the radial lines to complete the web design.
  8. Place sliced black olives on the web lines to act as spiders; use toothpicks or pretzel sticks for legs if desired.
  9. Chill the tray in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to set the ranch.

Notes

Ensure vegetables are completely dry before assembling to prevent the ranch from sliding off. The ranch must be thick enough to pipe cleanly; if using store-bought, consider thickening with sour cream or mayo. For best results, assemble the web on the day of serving, though veggies can be prepped a day in advance.
