Crisp apple slices layered like nachos and drizzled with creamy peanut butter, then topped with dark chocolate chips, coconut flakes, and a pinch of sea salt. A healthy, 10-minute snack that feels like dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Fuji recommended)
  • 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 12 tablespoons maple syrup or honey
  • 12 tablespoons warm water
  • 2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips (mini chips preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1 tablespoon chopped peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon raisins or dried cranberries (optional)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Cut into thin rounds, about 1/4-inch thick, removing seeds and core pieces.
  2. In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine peanut butter and maple syrup. Microwave for 15-20 seconds, then stir. Add warm water one teaspoon at a time until the mixture reaches a pourable, ribbon-like consistency.
  3. On a large serving platter, arrange apple slices in a single layer, slightly overlapping. If needed, add a second layer staggered on top.
  4. Drizzle the peanut butter mixture evenly over the apple slices, zigzagging to ensure coverage.
  5. Sprinkle dark chocolate chips, coconut flakes, chopped peanuts, and raisins or dried cranberries (if using) evenly over the nachos. Finish with a light pinch of flaky sea salt.
  6. Serve immediately while apples are crisp and drizzle is fresh.

Notes

Best served immediately. Apples will brown after about 30 minutes. For kids, slice apples into sticks instead of rounds. To prevent browning, toss apple slices in lemon juice before arranging. For a nut-free version, use sunflower seed butter or WowButter. For a lower-sugar option, skip the maple syrup and just warm the peanut butter.
