This Easy 3-Ingredient Slow Cooker Turkey Chili is proof that you don’t need a long ingredient list or hours of active cooking time to make something genuinely delicious. Three simple ingredients, a slow cooker, and a little patience—that’s all it takes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground turkey (93% lean recommended)
  • 2 cans (14.5 oz / 410g each) fire-roasted diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1 packet (about 1 oz / 28g) chili seasoning mix

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until no longer pink.
  2. Transfer the browned turkey to a 4-6 quart slow cooker.
  3. Add both cans of undrained diced tomatoes to the slow cooker.
  4. Sprinkle the entire packet of chili seasoning over the top and stir well to combine.
  5. Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  6. Optional: Adjust consistency by adding a splash of chicken broth if too thick, or remove lid for last 30 minutes if too thin.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, cayenne, or hot sauce as desired.
  8. Serve hot with desired toppings.

Notes

Don’t skip browning the turkey—it adds depth of flavor. For a thicker chili, stir in a cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water) 30 minutes before serving. This chili tastes even better the next day and freezes well for up to 3 months.
