A quick, crunchy, and savory snack mix made with Chex cereal, butter, and ranch seasoning. Perfect for game day or busy weeknights, this recipe requires minimal effort and delivers bold flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Chex cereal mix (Rice, Corn, and Wheat) or plain Rice Chex
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 packet (1 oz) dry ranch dressing mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe bowl or saucepan and let it cool slightly.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. Pour the Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl.
  6. Pour the melted butter over the cereal and toss gently to coat evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the seasoning mix over the buttered cereal and toss again to distribute spices.
  8. Spread the cereal in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 15 minutes, stirring halfway through (at the 7-minute mark) to ensure even browning.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the sheets for at least 20 minutes to crisp up.
  11. Break up any clumps before serving or storing.

Notes

Do not skip the stir halfway through baking to prevent burning. The cereal will feel soft when hot but will crisp up as it cools. Store in an airtight container for up to one week. Can be frozen for up to three months.
